10: The Simpsons

 have been making people laugh – and making other people debate when the show’s Golden Age ended – for decades, and it’s on the way to Season 27 with all of its cast intact, even though it looked like Harry Shearer was going to back out over money issues earlier this year. No one could have predicted this Tracy Ullman Show spinoff would have lasted for more than 570 episodes, but this dysfunctional family has definitely earned its place on this list. We can all thank Poochie for that, right?

9: Mad Men

          

Few shows have seen the kind of mass critical acclaim that Matthew Weiner’s period drama Mad Men earned during its seven seasons on AMC. Through exquisite attention to detail and a cast of characters with consistently complicated motivations, this series made Dom Draper a household name and reminded the world just how much alcohol and cigarettes were abused during the 1960s. As well, it put AMC on the map as a network to be reckoned with for top-quality original series.

8. Saturday Night Live

If you thought The Simpsons would be the longest-lasting show on this list, you’d be wrong, as that distinction goes to Saturday Night Live, the much-beloved and much-maligned sketch show that birthed the careers of dozens of comedians. Due to its live nature and topical approach, which doesn’t allow for too much planning ahead of time, almost no season of SNL is perfect, but every year produces a handful of unforgettable moments that make everything else seem more tolerable in retrospect.

7: Meray Paas Tum Ho

Meray Paas Tum Ho is a 2019 Pakistani romantic drama television series produced by Humayun Saeed and Shahzad Nasib under their production banner Six Sigma Plus. Directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, the show starred Humayun Saeed, Ayeza Khan and Adnan Siddiqui. The show aired on ARY Digital from 17 August

6: Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Japanese anime television series adapted from the Fullmetal Alchemist manga by Hiromu Arakawa. Produced by Bones, the series is directed by Yasuhiro Irie, written by Hiroshi Ōnogi and composed by Akira Senju. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is the second anime television series based on Fullmetal Alchemist, the first being 2003's Fullmetal Alchemist. Unlike the previous adaptation, Brotherhood is an almost 1:1 adaptation directly following the original events of the manga. The series ran for 64 episodes on MBS–TBS from April 2009 to July 2010.

The series was first licensed in North America by Funimation and was broadcast English-dubbed on Adult Swim from February 2010 to September 2011. In 2016, Funimation lost the rights to the series and it was transferred to Aniplex of America.

5: Game of Thrones

is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, a series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. The show was shot in the United Kingdom, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, and Spain. It premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and concluded on May 19, 2019, with 73 episodes broadcast over eight seasons.

Set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, Game of Thrones has a large ensemble cast and follows several story arcs throughout the course of the show. A major arc concerns the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros through a web of political conflicts among the noble families either vying to claim the throne or fighting for independence from it. Another focuses on the last descendant of the realm's deposed ruling dynasty, who has been exiled to Essos and is plotting a return to the throne. A third story arc follows the Night's Watch, a military order defending the realm against threats from the North.

Game of Thrones attracted record viewership on HBO and has a broad, active, and international fan base. Critics have praised the series for its acting, complex characters, story, scope, and production values, although its frequent use of nudity and violence (including sexual violence) has been subject to criticism. The final season received significant critical backlash for its reduced length and creative decisions, with many considering it a disappointing conclusion. The series received 59 Primetime Emmy Awards, the most by a drama series, including Outstanding Drama Series in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. Its other awards and nominations include three Hugo Awards for Best Dramatic Presentation, a Peabody Award, and five nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama. Many critics and publications have named the show as one of the best television series of all time.
